City of Shiner is announcing an immediate full-time opening for Patrol Officer.  Applications are available from Shiner Police Department located at 810 N Ave E Shiner, TX. 77984. A Shiner Patrol Officer provides patrol services to the Community, responds to calls for service, works traffic, takes reports and investigates crimes, takes crash reports, prepares cases for prosecution, serves warrants, appears in court, gives advice to citizens when necessary and performs other duties as assigned.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to waist height and have no physical impairments to sitting, stooping, bending, and standing for extended periods of time, pushing, squatting, walking, and carrying associated with Police functions.  Officer must possess the knowledge and ability to use a computer and to utilize two-way radios, in-car cameras, digital cameras, and specific police reporting software. 

Basic qualifications are:
•  3 Years or more full time Law Enforcement experience required
•  Current TCOLE license in good standing
•  Basic Peace Officer License or higher preferred
•  College degree of college level course work preferred
•  Reside within 30-mile response area to the City of Shiner or 
    be willing to relocate within six months.

Starting hourly wage $24.07-$28.06/hour (depending on experience and qualifications).  The City of Shiner has TML retirement, health and life insurance, paid holidays, extra shift pay, certification pay and overtime pay.  The City of Shiner is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
