Green-Dickson Municipal Park

Park Description

Green-Dickson Municipal Park is a 148-acre facility located at the northwest edge of town. The park features children's playgrounds, covered picnic areas with barbecue pits, lighted tennis and volleyball courts, fishing, a first class baseball/softball complex and an enclosed pavilion with an air-conditioned dining and kitchen facility. There are also several spaces for overnight camping (RV's only) with hookups.


Community Events

Shiner's Annual Half Moon Holidays celebration has been located in Green-Dickson Park during the 4th of July holiday weekend. Craft & food booths, volleyball & fishing tournaments and BBQ cook-offs are all part of the festivities, followed by a spectacular fireworks show.


RV Camping (2 week maximum stay)

Rates are $35.00 per night. Sites 9, 10, 11, and 12 are $25.00, but have no sewer. 11am check in til 11am check out, 2 week maximum. You may use the dump for a $10.00 fee paid at City Hall when you reserve your site. Make reservations online here; for reservations during Half Moon Holidays, call Shiner Chamber of Commerce, 361-594-4180. There are 12 slots:

  • Sites 1-8 are all 50 amp service.
  • Slots 1-2 are 57' x 38', with full hook-ups. (Slot 2 has a post in the upper corner 20' in from the top and 14' in from the side.)
  • Slots 3-4 are 59' x 27', with full hook-ups.
  • Slots 5-6 are 54' x 40', with full hook-ups.
  • Slots 7-8 are 57' x 39', with full hook-ups.
  • Slots 9-10 are 77' x 35', 50 amp, no sewer, dump station available.
  • Slots 11-12 are 80' x 39', 50 amp, no sewer, dump station available.

Kaspar Pavilion

$150.00 fee to use, with a $150.00 deposit which will be returned if the facility is left clean and undamaged. A rental agreement will need to be signed at City Hall. Make reservations online here or call 361-594-3362.


Game & Fish Building (blue building and Merrem Pavilion)

$100.00 fee to use, with a $100.00 deposit. Renting this facility also includes use of the Merrem open air pavilion with picnic tables. Make reservations online here or call 361-594-3362.


Kettle Room

Individual use fee is $100.00. Organization fee is $15.00 per kettle, with a maximum of $50.00, on the honor system. The fee for fundraisers is $50.00. There is a $100.00 deposit which will be returned if the facility is left clean and undamaged. Call 361-594-3362 to reserve.


Open Air Pavilions: Ward

There is a Reservation and use fee of $25.00 to reserve the open air pavilions. No deposit. Schools are exempt from the fee. Make reservations online here or call 361-594-3362.


Bouncy Houses

There is a fee of $15.00 per inflatable. Users must add on at time completing of online reservation or get permit at City Hall. There is no fee for non-profit organizations.


Water Slides

There is a fee of $15.00 per slide. Users must add on at time completing of online reservation or get permit at City Hall. There is no fee for non-profit organizations.


Baseball Fields

The fee to use the baseball fields for a tournament is $100.00 per day, with a $75.00 deposit which will be returned if the facility is left clean and undamaged. There is a fee of $100.00 to use the field lights. Call 361-594-3362 to make reservations.


Tennis Courts

It is recommended to call City Hall to make reservations, so as not to conflict with the high school's use of the tennis courts for tournaments.
